License Activation Issues
Troubleshoot common problems with activating, transferring, or maintaining your Genzbots license key.
Common Problems & Fixes
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| "Invalid license key" | Key format is XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Copy-paste directly from the activation email — do not retype manually. Watch for smart quotes (“ instead of ") if copying from a PDF or Word doc. |
| "Key already activated on another machine" | Each key activates on one machine at a time. Email support@genzbots.ai with your order number to transfer the activation. |
| Studio keeps asking for a key every launch | The licence file is stored at %AppData%\Genzbots\licence.dat. If this file is being deleted by antivirus or a disk-clean tool, add an exclusion for the %AppData%\Genzbots\ folder. |
| No activation email received | Check your spam folder. Search for sender noreply@genzbots.ai. If not there after 30 minutes, email support@genzbots.ai with your purchase order number. |
| Network error during activation | Studio requires internet to validate the key on first activation. If behind a corporate proxy, ask IT to whitelist api.genzbots.ai on port 443. |
| Offline grace period expired | Studio runs for 30 days without internet. After 30 days offline it needs one online check-in. Connect to the internet and restart Studio to reset the grace timer. |
