Browser Extension Not Connecting
If the browser extension popup shows "Not connected" even though Studio is open, work through these steps in order.
Step 1 — Start Studio First
The extension only connects when Studio is already listening on port 7821. Start Studio, wait for it to fully load, then open the browser.
Step 2 — Check the Extension Is Enabled
Chrome → address bar → type chrome://extensions → find Genzbots Studio Connector → make sure the toggle is On (blue).
Step 3 — Reload the Extension
On the chrome://extensions page → click the reload icon on the Genzbots extension card.
Step 4 — Run the Native Host Installer
The native messaging host allows the browser extension to communicate with Studio. Open File Explorer → navigate to the browser-extension folder → right-click install-native-host.bat → Run as administrator. Restart Chrome.
Step 5 — Check Windows Firewall
Windows Defender Firewall → Advanced Settings → Inbound Rules → New Rule → Port → TCP → port 7821 → Allow the connection → name it "Genzbots Studio Extension".
Step 6 — Check Background Page Logs
Open chrome://extensions → Genzbots → click the "service worker" link → check the Console tab for error messages.
